Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a difference in how professional players use their Domin?
Many professional players enjoy the same benefits of using a Domin Glove as amateur players do. Professional players, however, must perform at the highest level of competition, and can't afford to make as many mistakes on the field. To increase their ability to make outstanding defensive plays, many professional players place their last two fingers in the pinky slot of their Domin Glove. This technique forces your hand to close the pocket more securely and decreases the likelihood of misplaying both ground balls and fly balls. Try it and see how much stronger you become defensively!!!

Why are domin gloves so durable?
The tanning process leather goes through will determine the durability of the leather. Domin Gloves are oil tanned using fish oil that is pounded into the dried hide until the natural moisture of the original skin has been replaced. This technique increases the durability of the Domin glove leather and decreases the need for you to buy a new glove every baseball season!

How do you pronounce Domin?
DÕ-Meen

What are some good ways to break in my new glove?

  1. If it is a right-throw glove put your right hand on the thumb and your left hand on the pinky (for a left throw glove this is the opposite). Face the glove away from you and put the back of the glove in your sternum. Move the thumb and pinky up and down with your hands.
  2. Continue to slam your fist or a ball into the palm or pocket and prod and press on the leather.
  3. Be aware that putting glove treatments, softeners, and other lubricants can make your glove break in quicker but can also make your glove much heavier!

I know a lot of softball players like to use baseball gloves. Which of your gloves would fit best for a softball player?
Obviously a softball player would always prefer a bigger pocket, so try our 11.75 and 12 inch models for infielders and pitchers and our 12.75 inch models for outfielders!
